Message from Rich Fay

Greetings fellow team members

   As many of you know, Jeff has been ripping the legs off the Cat 4 racers winning both the Cherry Blossom and Lower Providence. In addition, Julian finished 3^rd in his age group and 14^th overall in the Hibernia Mt. Bike Duathlon. And Rick Carpenter finished the Eastern PA ACP Fleche – a 24 hour team-ride event, covering a minimum of 360 km ( 224 miles). Holy cow, that’s a lot of miles, Rick! Good going guys! Make us proud! That’s like the best weekend the team has ever had! Show them Team Cycle Funattic will kick their butts!

Second, next Tuesday, April 28 will be the first of our weekly team training rides. For you new guys, we head north towards Belvidere along 519. These rides occur every Tuesday unless there is bad weather. We generally leave the shop about 6:00. Like the Sunday rides, we meet at the back of the shop. For you northern guys – let us know if you will be meeting us along the way.

These are tempo rides with a couple of sprints and a climb or two. Tempo in this case means 20-25 mph. It would be good to get above race pace, but that will be dependent on who and how many show up. We typically run into a few local guys from other teams. Like last year, on the last sprint, Russ has pledged a $50 gift certificate for Cracker Barrel to whoever can take him the most. Only kidding Russ!

Until about mid-May, it might be advisable to bring a tail light.
